You're just too young Carson! It did exist and it was very effective. The
results were probably not very permanent but since you were dealing with
negs 3 stops underexposed in the first place it didn't matter.

I think laudanum was sold legally well into this century in many parts of
this world. A couple of spoonful of this liquid opium/brandy conconction
and you'd hardly miss a beat laughing when they hanged you by the toes
while shooting arrows at you;-)
