I use the zone system where appropriate.

But adapting development times and exposure times to achieve appropriate
densities has been around longer than the zone system. It is incorrect to call
the practice' the zone system.

The method I suggested for achieving inter-negatives of appropriate densities
for alternative processes is valid, it works and is not the zone system.

I am not against the zone system and never have been but it seems, sometimes, to
become an end in itself.

As I assume you are using this
densitometer, the only difference between you and a zone freak is your
terminology (and - very likely - your individual understanding of photography).
That you (and me...) think these processes should be used in another way as
silver gelatin is another thing.
