The 1:12 gloss varnish solution is used to increase apperent Dmax, but
*without* adding any really appernt gloss. In other words, the print
still looks pretty much the same except with a richer black. If you
would like a glossier finish you would have to use more gloss medium and
experiment until you found the right ratio.
