The yellow was Rowney Permanent Yellow. The brochure from Rowney does not
state the pigment (grrrrr!), but lists it as "transparent." It also lists
Aureolin, Lemon Yellow and Indian Yellow as transparent, tho, in my
ignorance perhaps, I didn't see anything wrong with the Permanent Yellow.
But didn't someone mention Hansa yellow as a good process yellow? And
there's a new synthetic one, a D-word as I recall.

OK from my Wilcox bible quotes :-- Rowney Permanent Yellow seems a strange
name when one considers the fugitive pigment employed. most unreliable.ASTM
5 L'fast generic name PY1Arylide Yellow G (P. 29)

The Rowney Lemon yellow gets a reasonable write up quote ;-A reliable
pigment has been used. the paint will resist light very well, semi -
transparent ASTM 2
Rowney Aureolin got the highest marks, transparent,a good mid yellow.

Watercolour paints do not work quite as well as acrylics, from an archival
point of view, I think it is the nature of the binder, the Cadmium pigments
are great but they are all very opaque, the transparent yellows are
unfortunately not quite as good although Hansa yellow light seems to be
alright its generic name is:--
ARYLIDE YOLLOW 10G ASTM index PY3

That is all I have got at the moment, but I am still searching for the
perfect transparent yellow pigment , anybody out there got anymore
information ?

Lets work together,
