Pete, that is indeed a fascinating report and I'm sure after I've had a
chance to study it in a more supportive environment than my 5-inch screen
I'll have a bunch of questions, as no doubt all forward-thinking gum
printers will.

Meanwhile, since, as you know, each question answered raises two additional
ones -- your next task is some form of accelerated aging test of
pigment/stain and paper in combination to see just how deleterious
different levels of stain in the various conditions are.

We have taken as gospel for years that, esthetics aside, residual
chemical is unarchival. In all forms? In all amounts? Especially given
possible color and scale benefits, the shedding of further light could
only, well, enlighten.

I recently read about an accelerated aging test you can do at home alone.
I'll see if I can find the info......
