I use Liquid Light on Rives BFK and get fine results. I do coat the back of
the paper with acrylic varnish before using the liquid light. Partly as a
chemical barrier and partly to offset the tension of the silver gelatin on
the front side. My paper dries pretty flat with a curl towards the silvered
side.

I use a foam brush or a paint roller, used for trim, that is about 3" wide.

Project sounds interesting. Are you going to print the etching before or
after the photo process? I would recommend photo last as the emulsion is
sticky and somewhat fragile when wet and would not necessarly survive the
printing process. Have you also considered chincolet (sp?) that process
where you glue/laminate paper or pictures to the base paper during the
printing process.

Also after the prints are dry, I press them flat with weights. I have
sucessfully done liquid light on mulberry paper. I then apply the mulberry
paper to objects with YES Paste.
