The whole rapid prototyping industry has been growing quite
rapidly in the last few years. In a couple of years,
full color sculptures might be possible. Ceramic 3d printers
are also being developed. There are a few artists that use
the sla machines for artwork. I've got one of the cyberware
3d scanners and can answer any questions about the process.
I'm still trying to figure out a way to expose/print onto
a 3D surface that was milled or sla'd from a 3D scan.
