An earlier message mentions that wax is also a bug lunch... What about
"Renaissance" wax, a micro-crystaline wax sold by such places as Light
Impressions and touted as used by museums for leather, furniture and
prints(?). I've used it on silver prints to integrate the ravages of
selective toning and hand tinting with dyes.
