Hello Jonathan
>Why bother when we have Photoshop ?<

>An interesting question.... Not all of us have a powerful enough computer,
or a scanner, or the software, or a suitable output facility, or enough
money to pay someone else to do it all for us for every image we would like
to tinker with! This is not a flippant remark, it is meant in all
seriousness. I would love all of the above, but my bank would not.<....

I think Jack and Bob have answered this point very well, in that it does
not have to be too expensive.

But if it is to expensive , thats it ,or as we say" When needs must the
devil rides"
however on a level playing field if it is choice of the two methods than
Photoshop wins hands down, faster, more accurate, and almost undetectable.

> perhaps there is something
to be said for old methods on occasion ("character building"!)<

I have a dodgy enough character already, without further construction,
besides all this went out with Baden -Powell , cold baths and showers etc
:-)

BTW my bank manager does not like photoshop ether, he says it will be the
ruin of me, perhaps he is an ex-boy scout?
