To Luis et al
Have not tracked down total info w/R. Shaw but Richard said indeed
that his method of making decals is w/silkscreen and IS contrasty and
NOT continuous tone.

#2 The people @ "Fireform" said that their method was proprietary since
they've worked so long to perfect it. If you remember, I noted the
beauty of their continuous tone porcelain enamel fired onto metal images
in B/W and also the 3'x8' full color panel w/no discernable dots or
artifacts.
If any of you are interested .. and approximate cost to creat an 11"x14"
B/W would be near $120 by the time you're through w/everything. They are
very wonderful however.

#3 In Kent Wade's "Alternative Photographic Processes", Morgan & Morgan
1978, ISBN 0-87100-136-5, p 77 - 78 he mentions two methods one
non-silver technique using a colloid made of gelatin, water & sugar
sensitized w/ammonium dichromte (no recipe) and a photoresist us
Kodak's Photo Resist (which I believe I read on this list is no longer
made).

Kent's book also has info on how to make decals for firing onto ceramic
and much more ceramic image info. If you wish more info on this let me
know.
