Acrylic rod can be purchased at s shop that sells plastic frames,
plexiglass frames and materials that are make of acrylic. A frame shop
should know. Spectrum Design here in Santa Barbara, Ca sells them Tele
805-681-4899. There is a small book they sell clled " Working With
Acrylic" By crafties, Inc. that is helpful. They sell the solvents for
bonding acrylics as well . I hasd them cut 6 or 7 2x3 inch acrylic
handles out of 3/8 inch acrylic sheet and glued it to the rod with the
solvent (for use as a handle). They are great for platinum printing and
don't break like the glass rods. I probably have 10 of them all different
sizes and diff diameter for Pt printing. Acrylic is easy to work with.
You might also try Plastics Catalog at AIN Plastics in Norwood Mass
617-769-9050 for sheets, tubes, rods and films. That catalog is 215 pages
long. Glass rods are sold at Tri-Ess in Burbank California at Tele No
818-848-7838. They have a variety of different diameter glass rods that are
probably 3 feet long or even longer. Enjoy!
