Salt prints

Hi everyone,

As I said in my first posting to this list, I've been trying my hand at making
salt prints. I've now reached the stage where I'm reasonably happy with the
results I'm getting, although there's a long way to go yet. I've tried two
papers so far - Daler-Rowney's Langton watercolour paper and Winsor & Newton's
Cotman watercolour paper. The results with Cotman are particularly good,
especially when toned with dilute Tetenal Gold Toner before fixing.

Now for my question. I've seen a reference somewhere about using potassium
dichromate to increase the contrast of the salted paper, but I can't remember
the solution strength of the dichromate or the amount used. Can anyone help,
please? Also, do you add the dichromate to the salt solution or to the
sensitiser? Any information would be gratefully received.

Finally, I've been trying to locate a copy of James Reilly's book 'The Albumen
and Salted Paper Book', so far without success. Anyone know where I can geta
copy, please?

Many thanks
