It is the tissue which I use on my photogravure classes and for carbon printing
when I want a burnt sienna image. I can print from a negative with a density
range of 2.5 onto their carbon tissue with ease.
Autotype have been making carbon tissue since the late 1860s. They still make
it for machine gravure printing but are prepared to supply it to colleges where
its use is likely to lead to orders in greater quantities. They abandoned the
carbon and carbro photography markets decades ago.
