There seems to be some restriction on the strength of peroxide that can now be
sold in the UK. Even the ever estimable Aldrich from whom I got my supplies
before will only sell 28.5 although it says 30 % on the container.

I was just hoping !

I know to be careful. Do you find that you have to add more peroxide than Dick
Stevens suggests ? One seems to need to go adding a few ml at a time for a
long time. He says add until looks it looks like root beer. I had root beer
once in 1964 in North Dakota . I can't remember what it looked like but I am
still trying to forget the taste. But I knew I was OK when the solution turned
green.
>What did you get? Green liquid?
Yes at about twenty per cent solution.

Hydrometer first but after that I made a print and that seemed to be agood
enough test. Now all I have is two containers both with a brown precipitate
which is presumably ferrous oxalate under a lot of greeny brown liquid. Dick
says add 50 ml of peroxide. Has he left a nought off ? Maybe I gave up too soon.
