Some of us old crocks remember when a lot of good candid shots were made
with what was essentially a view camera i. e. a Speed Graphic. The usual
format was 4 x 5. I still have one around the studio somewhere. Of course
it weighed about 3 tons and every pocket was stuffed with plateholders.
35 mm has given us a certain amount of freedom but there are trade-offs.
