TK wrote < I (Terry King) do not know the basis for John^s process......>
and <If John were to explain the difficulties that I (Terry King)
perceived.........> Thanks to TK for explaining to us all his personal and
subjective reactions to some of my ( John Grocott^s) Direct Carbon Gelatine
work which he has seen .Terry is obviously not interested in LEARNING
anything about the basis of my process. If "difficulties" were "perceived"
they were Terry King^s difficulties and not mine. However, I am sure those
who will be receiving samples of my DCG process will be more than able to
form their own opinions.............and there are a few well known and
knowledgeable people who have shown an interest. Not everyone is looking for
a " full range of tones" in every picture. How boring this would be! The
actual tone range and contrast of an image printed in any photo medium
depends largely on the content of the negative and , in the case of DCG,on
the manual abrasive control and the desire of the printer.
It is bizarre and laughable to visualize a photographer posing on a system as
vast and far reaching as the Internet pretending they are teaching a class of
photo alt beginners in further education. Thanks to all for
bearing with me through this inevitable(I suppose), irksome and wearisome
pseudo photo literary reading experience.
I am getting back in the d/room for a while. See you all.FTGRFST
John Grocott.
