The subject line states the premise...and, indeed, there is useful
information exchanged and valuable techniques discussed (that is why I,
as probably most list members, added their names)....but...today there
were over three dozen posts, few of which were information rich..(can
always cancel, right...).
On a few tech matters: for very large duplicate negatives I know
of two useful techniques: radiographic duplicating film (similar to the
Kodak direct duplicating film...I first tried the Xray material decades
ago, it was of Italian descent from a medical supply..and much cheaper
than Great Yellow Father's) your local medical supply should be able to
help (check friendly chiropractors as they comsume massive quantities of
x-ray material and should know sources). Also there was an article some
years ago in Professional Photographer on using litho film, flashing for
contrast control, then developing, bleaching, rinsing, re-exposing to
light and reprocessing to get a negative....apparently with very good CI
control (am searching for article, can't find it right off hand).
Anyone using the old Mortensen "chrome" techniques???
