D. Smith's price for Platine is $4.97 for a 22x30 and $9.72 for
30x40, with discounts for 25 or more sheets. I've not found a
better price for this paper yet. I have, however, found a paper that
gives very comparable results for a fraction of the price. If you
like Platine, I would suggest trying Cranes Distaff Linen 90# Cover
in bright white (also available in "natural white"). It is very
smooth, not quite as thick as Platine and prints well with both
single and double coating techniques. I got it from Matz Paper in
Van Nuys, CA (800-779-4153). The price for 23x29 was $1.28 for less
than 100 sheets and around $1.10 for over 100 sheets. You can
probably find it locallay from a dealer that carries Cranes products.

David, to return a favor, if you would like some samples to test,
e-mail me off list.
