I remember recalibrating precision glassware after concentrated NaOH solutions
had been kept in them, because of the glass being slightly dissolved, and it
was throwing our volumetric measurements. But that was in a quantitative
analysis lab, where fingerprints sometimes weighed more than the samples.
Although bases can and frequently will dissolve glass, I suspect that most of
the photochem isn't either caustic enough or sensitive enough to be adversely
affected. (I've gotten away with a *lot* of slop)
