A few years ago, I used the metallic gouaches to nice effect. My favorites
were
printed from a positive with silver gouache on black paper (for that
highlight
shimmer). For a time I was sizing regular gums with a watered-down
gesso/acrylic
medium to which I added a bit of pearlescent acrylic matte medium; it gave
a
wonderful glow to the highlights. Try it...

Another 'pigment' worth trying is the bronze powder used for theatrical
make up and other things. It comes in differeent shades and very little of
it is needed to get marvellous effects.
