I would also appreciate some definitive information on the subject. This
problem, uneven staining of the back of the film that results with Jobo and
other tube type processing, has been known since Hutchings introduced PMK
several years back so there must be someone who has the answer. I use tube
processing and have not experienced the problme but I am still using old
emulsions (Kodak Tri-X and Ilford HP-5 and FP-4). I am interested in using
some of the newer t-max emulsions but have so far been scared off by the
lack of un-even staining that seems to result from some of the newer films.
I also use a long afterbath in the spend Pyro (Hutchings recommends 2
minutes, I use up to 5 minutes). Otherwise I follow Hutchings' direction
pretty much to the letter.
