I used a crown Graphic for years.

You can find them in excellent condition with an Ektar lens for around $250 if
you look long enough. Model is not that important unless you want to use the
rangefinder. I prefer the older models because you can take the viewfinder
off and scout the location with it in your pocket. It almost eliminates
tripod waltzing.

Make sure it has an all metal viewer hood, and not part leather and part
metal. I can tell you from experience that you will be embarrassed if you cut
yourself across the forehead with it during a tripod waltz, though.

A Speed graphic has the focal plane shutter, which is usually broken or just
about to break. You can use barrel mount lenses as long as it lasts,
otherwise it is a liability.

Not real good for wide angle unless you like to crop out the ground and don't
use any rise. The small amount of rise you do get is totally used up when you
drop the bed. There is also the area in the hinge where the lensboard cannot
be placed.

I used it for close ups very easily by mounting a flash and marking the
focusing track to indicate exposure factors on extension.

If you get a really good negative using Type 55, shoot an extra one and
develop it normally when you get home. It is very much like the old PanX.
