Terry, Karl, Dick, et al :

I am not speaking for Carlos Gasparinho … but, I want everyone to know
that he has been very busy moving into a new house and his www has been
disrupted. He has been trying to get back on but has had difficulty. I
am attempting to reach him by telephone and will let this list know.

However, he has often said, in a comical fashion, "In Portugal, we do
everything at the last minute." When I was there this past November, the
city had just suffered a huge flood and downtown was ripped apart in
preparation for the World Fair this summer. It did not look to me they
could possibly finish by June but I know they will. It is just a
characteristic of the country.

I cannot, of course, guarantee anything, but I'm willing to wager that
the conference will be fabulous. The place wehre it is planned to be
held is in the Cultural Center of Belem, a huge place. The restaurants
are fabulous, pastries tasty, people wonderful, ambiance perfecto bueno,
tres bien etc.

So, hold on to your hats.
