Hello all,

before few weeks I wrote about troubles by finishing Caswell&Caswell new bromoil
paper to get a bromoil print. Inbetween some bromoil workers have (not only
german bromoilists) confirmed my establishments, that's very difficult, to ink
the beached print by using foam-brayers.
Thank you very much for the tips, which I have received from users of the list
and from my friend Karl-Heinz Klang, after he has corresponded with Mr. Caswell
directly , but even after changing the temperature of the swelling bath
(28°C), the time (6 min) and drying before and super drying after beaching by
following Caswell's advice, there was no improvement to detect. No relief could
be realized. Only by taking a very soft ink in gereral it was possible, tu build
up a picture, but a very slack one, with a low contrast and a greasy looking out.
I achieves the same results like in my tests weeks before. It seemed, even if the
print was laying down for many decades in a loft. Wether by finishing Kentmere
Document Art or Bromoil Trial nor by using other papers, which are suitable as
bromoil prints I have achieved this effects. Maybe the Caswell paper is suitable
by using brushes in hopping and walking actions; but for me it is important to
finish big prints (size of 50 to 60 cm) in short times and without pain in the
wrist. My result also after the new testings is, that Caswell paper ist not
suitable for my purpose.
