Difficult Photo Processes

All this talk about the difficulty of alternative processes indicates
the inflexibility that permeates much of alt photography.

Several years ago I found that the bromoil process was cloaked in
mystery and daunting mystique. After a lot of experimentation and trial
and error experience, I discovered that many of the mythes were
unfounded. Bromoil is actually a fairly easy process to learn and to
execute, but to listen to many, it's practically impossible to master
using today's materials.

The Alt Photo community would be far better served by encouraging young
photographers to experiment in the alternative processes rather than by
scaring them off, methinks.
