We coat our plates everyday, in any size, and we don't have to depend on the
availability of commercial products. Wet-plate Collodion is the original
primary negative for many alternate printing processes. The process is fast,
10 minutes from plain glass to finished negative (or positive).
Like other alternate processes, of course, there is a learning curve. It
requires some dedication to learn, ...but it is not impossible. (whew!) You
can get hands-on experience at our workshop in March at George Eastman House,
(or one of our upcoming workshops in Europe this spring).
