Death of APIS 98

I'm with you guys, we need a fall back position. I've changed plans twice
already. I haven't reserved any tickets, thank heavens. It bothers me that
"they are transforming it now" was said about the fortress. I called off
the APIS in Santa Fe when the dates on the Marion Center starting falling
behind. As it turns out, it will be just about 1 year late!! This is not
unusual for this kind of thing. If they are "transforming it now, will it
be done by summer? It is all well and good to make committments now, but if
they call it off, what happens? They can just walk away, it is us who is
left holding the bag. The fact that Carlos is going to be away until April
bothers me as well. Someone should be there to bird dog everything. Is
there a back up plan for Oporto if the fortess is not ready??

I say we do something in Europe --- Terry??? Hopefully it is on the same
dates as Carlos was planning because that is when I am scheduled to go.
