Having just joined the list please excuse me if I am informing everyone of
something that they already know about, but I have just seen the first
results of new bromoil paper which is going to be produced soon by Kentmere
in UK.
The Bromoil Circle of Great Britain have been trying out this paper on
test for Kentmere, and say that it produces an excellent result.
The non-super coated emulsion is similar to that used on Kentmere's
Document
Art, but applied to the reverse side of paper used to for Art Classic.
This gives a heavy weight paper base, with a smooth surface. It inks very
easily when inked normally, but some bromoil workers may find the
application of the ink will have to be different to papers they are used
to. Too heavy
an application may damage the emulsion, but as with most things in
alternative photography you can't have everything.
The paper is being produced by Kentmere for Silverprint Ltd, a company in
London UK, and should be on sale by mid March. It should cost about the
same as Art Classic.
Silverprint have a web site with their catologue on it, but I haven't found
it yet, being new to the net!
