Dear Altphoto Members-

Even though it did not contain the ferro-sesquicyanuret of potassium
reference, I can recommend a book entitled "Lindsay's Chemical Cross
Reference" Copyright 1989 by Lindsay Publications Inc. Bradley, IL
60915. The editors took info from chemical textbooks, industrial
references and formularies and sorted them by cross-reference,
equivalents and definitions (I am paraphrasing the introduction). They
fed this info into a computer, and came up with a nifty little book.
For example, did you know that purified ozokerite is another name for
ceresin wax? Or that moschus is another name for the musk from
preputial follicles of ox? Well, that last one might be kind of
obvious...

Anyway, I have found this book useful when trying to decipher some
ancient photo text.
