I too have wasted too many years of my life on committees. The idea of an
international and remote committee horrifies me as to the likely
difficulties to which it could give rise. Squabbles and rancorous time
wasting correspondence come to mind.
As to plan B. we already have exhibition space. We also need to decide
whether our criterion for deciding what appears in an exhibition is quality
or everybody having a go. If we are to talk about a particular process,
say four colour carbon, is it not better that we should display work, that
inspires us to emulate it rather than encouraging us by saying 'I could do
better than that'. I rather gained the impression from Carlos that that was
his view in relation to exhibitions associated witha Portuguese APIS.
I would tend to the view that we should have a 'doer' who will seek advice
and help.
