Not long after the first raid by the FBI, Sturges gave a talk
at the ASPP in New York City. That's Association of Picture
Professionals, an organization made up of picture editors,
picture researchers and photographers, nationwide.
One statement Sturges made stuck in my mind. He said something
like, I'm coming close to leaving this country for good ...
or similar to it. Perhaps now he will. Then "they" will win.
