I feel a need to respond/explain as you singled out my note though the
list sentiment had a measure of doubt about the plan for 98.

I accept everything that you say.

It is worth mentioning that a number of other things rathewr depend on the
decision as to whether we go ahead in Oporto. I am planning a mini APis in
Bath with an exhibition with the current intent of launching a record of
the 1997 APIS. The publicity for that function is requiredby the RPS by
early next week. If I am to go for plan B and change the tone from minor
to major .Keith Dugdale needs to have some certainty so that he can include
details of what is planned to happen in the APR. Both Keith and I real;ly
need to know very soon . I also appreciate that is not a reason for pulling
from Plan A.

I also have my concerns as to the proposed structure of the symposium. A
day for'old' and a day for new forms of old does not seem the most
constuctive approach. Perhaps we should think more of the objective of all
this which is to make pictures. The process is the tool to that .end.
Perhaps some concentration on how technological change is affecting our
activities would be appropriate. How about a little history. Who will be
running workshops and when ? Will there be more than one exhibition. I
would support the idea of two. One for examples of processes and one of the
best that our area of enthusiasm can achieve.

Life was easier for me ! But what arrangements are being made for
planning while Carlos is in San Francisco.
