Epson is coming out with a new printer that may compete with the Iris
printer at a fraction of the cost.

Due to ship in March, the Epson Stylus Pro 5000 will be a six-color,
tabloid-size inkjet with an external Fiery PostScript 3 RIP server from
Electronics for Imaging Inc. It will reportedly be announced next week and will be
first shown at the Seybold Seminars New York in March. According to
sources, Torrance, Calif.-based Epson will sell the Stylus Pro 5000 for $9,995
completely configured.
