As to England we are confirmed for the exhibition and the book arising out
of APIS 1997, both are to be called 'A Celebration of Alternative
Photography'. The mini symposium to go with the launch of the book, is on
4/5 July and the exhibition will run from 16 June until 12 July when it
will be taken down to go on to Oporto.
I need, as soon as possible, transparencies of work that people brought to
APIS 97. The transparencies are needed to choose work for the book, the
exhibition and for publicity. I hope that there will be a significant
amount of work from non anglophones.
The book will contain papers as appendices and a 'how to' section which is
hoped will not be a rehash of what has been written over the past 150
years. I would be very grateful if those who have somethng to offer would
contact me off list.
Things have been a little delayed as a result of the ostensible uncertainty
as to the location of APIS 98.
I am now pushing ahead with the 'Celebration' which can, should the need
arise, be expanded.
