I usually mix cyanotype solutions A and B together when I make up
a new batch (using the traditional formula). This way it keeps
for months--probably would keep years but I use it faster than that.
The one time I kept the two solutions separate, I too got mold. My
advice is to forget separate solutions. I mix chemicals right in the
jar I coat from. First dissolve the potassium ferricyanide and then
add the ferric ammonium citrate. Stir to mix and you are ready to go.
I keep in a clear jar on the darkroom shelf. There is no uv light
but normal tungsten light.
