Here is an idea you might try. Use Kodalith, printed by contact or
projection and developed in 1:3 Dektol Developer. This is a fast way to
make black and white slides and the quality is quite good. the sharpness is
acceptable and you achieve a wide tone range, depending upon how careful
you are.
