As there is very little chance of marketing them to gum printers or other
alternative photographers there is little point in dragging them into the
argument here.

There is an old story of a man who apologised for writing a long letter as
he did not have time to write a short one. The point was that if one spends
time and thought composing a letter it is possible to leave out those
parts in a first draft, which, on further consideration, are found to be
irrelevant, confused, confusing or unnecessarily offensive. With practice
one can achieve a succinct letter that is enjoyable to read and makes one's
point effectively. Otherwise people will just turn off to the extent that
one might just as well have not written the letter at all.
