Jack, et al.-

I would like to pose a somewhat hypothetical question since circumstances
preclude my attendence in Portugal this year. (However, perhaps Sante Fe?)

Do the parameters of this annual conference allow for persons whose
"alt-photo" interest run to things like the (fairly esoteric) split-toning
techniques which I employ on my (silver) photographs? How about
mordancage? How about the use of low-tech equipment such as pin-hole or
plastic cameras? How about emulsion lifts and transfers?

These areas are, I believe, also "alternate," even though they receive less
discussion on the list. Certainly the reasons for their use run parallel
to those who choose to work in gum or platinum....

What does the group think? I am not trying to defensively make a case
here, nor argue that this "belongs" also. I am merely inquiring: Is there
sufficient interest in any of this for people to make the effort to attend
and share this information as well?

With best wishes-
