ambrotype workshop

I recently returned from an Ambrotype workshop, taught by Mark & France Scully
Osterman, at the George Eastman house. In the workshop we used vintage
equipment to produce produce Ambrotypes using the wet-plate collodion process.
The workshop was great, and made the trip to Rochester worthwhile! Mark &
France know what they are talking about & made the process look easy. The
technical instruction was clear, inclusive & direct. There was also an
extremely interesting history presentation. I would recommend this workshop to
anyone interested. In all honesty, I had no intention of ever producing
ambrotypes, I only wanted to see the procedure, but now I find myself pricing
wet plat cameras...
Another unexpected benefit is that I now know exactly what cyanide smells like.
