HCL is Hydrochloric Acid, and adding salt to vinegar does NOT HCL make.
Where is everyone comming up with all this wrong information?

It is an old hand's way of cleaning copper plate for gravure. Put salt on
the plate and rub it in with vinegar. Which acid do you get if you add
acetic acid to sodium chloride ?
It is not done to make it taste nice.
