Since two month, we prepare APIS 2000 Paris Project. A lot of sponsor have
been contacted. The proposition of our German friends oblige me to launch
this project.
We plan now to held APIS 2000 in October / November in Paris.
On of the most important reason of that is the SFP support. SFP is the
French society of photography (equivalent of The Royal Photographic
Society in England). SFP was founded in 1854, his historic collection is
fabulous and contain antics cameras, old process archives and about 50000
pictures likes Daguerre pictures, Bayard, Puyo Demachy's picture....The
last week I meeted the SFP chef executives, he agrees to organise a large
exhibition of this collection for APIS 2000 in Paris.

Paris location for APIS 2000 appears to be the right choice.
At this date a lot of photographics events take place in Paris:
- In Carnavallet Museum will be held an important exhibition on 3D
photography from its beginning (daguerreotypes) until now. It will be an
unique exhibition demonstrating also very rare process like those that you
can read about in the Luis Nadeau's Encyclopedia and never seen. A visit of
this exhibition is included in the APIS project.
- Photography Paris biannual show ( Mois de la photo ) run from the
end October until December. During this period a selection of about 80
individuals exhibitions of modern photography are presented in a lot of
private galleries and public institutions. In the same time will be
organised a lot of conferences about photography.
- Photography Paris bi-annual show ( Mois Off ) run from October
until middle November. 50 individuals or collective exhibitions show a
selection of 100 / 120 photographers works.
Our APIS project plans is to cooperate with one of the two above
organisations in order to reserve a large space for artist's exhibitions
using alt photo process.

We project 4 / 5 days program of meeting, conferences and visits.
We have now to continue prepare seriously this project for 2000. One of the
most important issue is to find a right and good place / space for the
meetings and conferences planed in this project. It will take time and we
need to know yours ideas and project for APIS 2000. In the same way, in
order to deal with different sponsor and to cooperate with the 2000 shows
organisers (Mois de la photo or Mois Off ) we have to know if you agree to
participate in Paris project.
So , please let me know what's your intention for APIS 2000. For me its
clear, Paris is the best choice for 2000, but I will be happy to go to
Germany at a another date.

best
