If you are working from colour transparencies although it is quite possible
to make b & w negs from them the negs are likely to be so contrasty that
you would lose the subtlety of gradation that it possible with platinum if
you make a neg specifically for the purpose.
It yiou are prepared ro put up with this loss, the film you use will depend
upon the size of the print you want to make. If you wish to achieve a true
relationship with the colours of your transparency it is probably better to
use a panchromatic film for your interneg such as FP4 or contact onto a pan
film, contact that back onto an ortho film and enlarge from that onto a
lith film developed to continuous tone.
