I work with a Jobo also and for contrast control use Potassium Oxalate
w/Sodium Dichromate so have about 10 different developers. What sometimes
happens is I'll have a handful of prints exposed together which need
different developers so I'll develop them one at a time in the Jobo and
after development will place them in a tray of water. My developer is at
85° and the water cold from the tap. After all the prints are developed
(max. of 4) then I'll put them all in the large drum to go through the
clearing stages together; my clear is at the same temperature as the
developer. So the first print is developed warm, then might be in the cold
water bath 15 minutes or so before it is cleared at a warmer temperature.
I've had no problems with this method; moving up and down in temperature
doesn't seem to matter. My only concern is long wet times so I wouldn't
want it to go much further than that. On another note, you mention "no room
for clearing baths" by which I think you mean nowhere to store them heated.
Consider this: Get a deep kitty litter tray and a high quality aquarium
heater and, voila, a cheap tempering bath with a small footprint in which
you could store a few 1-gallon jugs of clearing agent at higher temperature.

I use Arches Platine and Aquarelle and just bought some of the Lenox. Any
special tricks to use with it compared to the Platine?
