Look guys, I've removed all names to protect the guilty, but did no one
notice or read my message yesterday (it really is like old times ;- ) -- I
said $5.40 and gave the company name, address, phone # and web site.

Meanwhile, as I said on page 39 of the article I was quoting from
Post-Factory Issue #1, the Kodak Step Wedge no. 2 is nearly an inch wide,
the Stouffer T2115 only a half inch wide. However, the Kodak has no
numbers on it -- which I also mention, going on & on about how important
those numbers are, listing all the EXTRA information they provide (as you
can see from the illustrations accompanying the article). In fact the
technician with computer at the Kodak 800 number told me that none of
Kodak's transmission guides have numbers on the steps, which disqualfies
them in my book, regardless of cost.

I gather also that Stouffer was on the list, because I got a note from the
rep assuring me I didn't have to put a gun at *his* head. It is
dismaying, tho I guess not surprising, to think my carefully honed words
did not get read. (Well one person read them because he decided to
subscribe to Post-Factory on the basis of my description of the "Sense and
Sensitometry" article. Said until then he'd thought it was about
photographing post-industrial sites.)

I have, BTW, sent 50 or more Stouffer T2115's to England, Holland, and so
forth, so I am aware it is not available there. If someone has Martin
Reed's ear, you might suggest he sell them at Silverprint. But I assume
you can order from the company. Remember, like I said, you don't want just
one. For the price of one sheet of that humongous large-format film you
can get three, which is hardly enough but the bare minimum to sustain
life.

I'll add that I paid $10 for my first one ten years ago -- if you buy from
a dealer that is not out of line.

cheers,

Judy
