Dear List,

I thought I'd pass on some information.

I've been using some of Freestyle's Agfa N31p film with drearly results.
Heavy base fog with a prominent additional edge fog as well. I've had to
run it all through a cutting reduction bath (Ansel Adams, The Negative,
p.257--I'm using half strength Part A) which helps but it's certainly not
perfect and I'd rather get it in the neg, not in after-treatments.

I'm going to be switching to Doug Munson's separation film as soon as I
can. It's panchromatic, perfect for duping and enlarging negs, and it's
cheaper than Freestyle's stuff.
In fact, it's only a dollar more for Doug's 20x24 than for Freestyle's
16x20. And Doug's ain't fogged. I'm sorry I don't have the name of the
film off hand, but I'll look it up tomorrow at work.

Doug, if you're there can you pass it on?

Too bad the gods of Kodak can't make Gravure Positive anymore. Now that
was a great film!

Best,

John
