Thanks to all for your interesting and useful information about Elmer's glue.
I wasn't planning on using it as a colloid. Just thinking about using it for
sizing (when I posted my original question, I was actually thinking about
sizing rice paper for my brush painting use, but since the composition is not
known, I won't use it).
Later I thought about using it for stretching paper (as in watercolor
painting) and perhaps using the technique also in gum....
