I think you are confusing "colorant" with "binder". He specifically asked
if pigments or dyes were used. It's easier to find permanent pigments. The
question he is getting at is how permanent are those prints? I have never
seen any test conducted by Wilhelm. Anyone? If the binder/emulsion is an
acrylic based polymer many in the conservation field will question the
permanence of the process for reasons previously discussed on this list,
complete with citations to the conservation literature.
On the other hand, we have this beautiful UltraStable process, which has
been tested independently, but the problem with it, of course, is that it
*is* available right off the shelf, with full instructions on the Web and
workshops, so nobody is interested in it...
