little black spots

I have had modest success in treating a spotty batch of paper in dilute
hydrochloric acid before coating the paper. I just run the sheets through the
three acid baths, wash, dry & use. This does not get rid of all the spots, but
it make the best of a bad situation. Of course, this only works for spots
caused by metal contaminates trapped in the fibers of the paper.
