The question, of course, PROVES my point that the best source of hard
information is PRINT media. Or let's say I seem to be able to communicate
better in print... Friend, your check for $24 on a US bank was fine, it
arrived promptly and so far my data base seems as delighted as I am to
accept it.
The story about the $4 fee was for those who have no source of dollars,
either under the mattress or from their bank, and since you are not the
only one who was confused, I will briefly, and with apologies to those who
are TIRED of this topic, recapitulate:
In many countries it costs a GREAT DEAL to get a bank order in dollars. In
such cases, it may be more economical to send me a bank draft or money
order in YOUR currency with an added $4, which is what I pay Cooke's at
this end to change your krone or guilder or whatever to dollars.
In the message that confused you (and for which I again apologize), I
listed the figures that would equal $24 plus $4 in several currencies. If
I missed someone's currency, email me offlist, I'll call Cooke's to get
it. If you missed the entire message, email me offlist & I'll re-send.
Sorry to have communicated so poorly. I PROMISE that P-F's instructions
