Those on the list who don't read the British Journal of Photography (now
in its 144th year I think, though I haven't subscribed that long myself)
may have missed their news item on the forthcoming event, so I thought I'd
post it here. From p4, BJP 03.06.98

Alternative photos takes trip to Bath again

FOLLOWING THE first International Symposium on Alternative Photography
held at Bath last year, a further ISAP is planned to take place in Bath on
4-6 July together with and associated exhibition - A Celebration of
Alternative Photography.

The programme now includes sessions on: gravure, photo-ceramics, the
Alinari Archive and the making of platinum prints from original plates,
photo-mechanical processes from the 1862 International Exhibition (to be
confirmed) and bromoil.

In addition the symposium will also look at the computer and the fine and
the alternative print, the RPS collection, prints from liquid silver
gelatin emulsions, the commerce of the platinum print and paper for
alternative processes.

The Monday sessions are to be held at the Great Hall, Lacock Abbey. The
registration fee is £140.

I imagine those attending will also be able to visit the Fox Talbot museum
at Lacock as well as looking round the Abbey at the various bits featured
in FT's photographs.

The exhibition sounds like it will be a particularly fine one - certainly
worth a detour to Bath if you are going to be in the UK during the time it
is on.

Any queries you may have I suggest you ask Terry directly as I'm very
seldom in communication with him (despite what some misguided people
think) - he is KINGNAPOLEONPHOTO@COMPUSERVE.COM
